Equal rights for women

The issue of equal rights for women is briefly addressed in the novel Looking for Alaska by John Green. Alaska’s intelligence is illustrated by the fact that she addresses the issue of gender equality. She complains about the patriarchal system, that is, the society that is determined by male domination. She draws attention to the fact that she lives in a system where women are still oppressed and treated as objects.
