In the first part of his Inaugural Address, Joe Biden focuses on the importance of democracy and the peaceful transfer of power from one president to their successor. By beginning with reminding the audience of the importance of democracy and mentioning the Capitol Attack, Biden attempts to ease the unrest regarding the election and transfer of power from those who oppose him. He reminds people that rioting and aggression will not stop the elected president from taking power because democracy is a system that will not be broken.
