Narrator and point of view
The events described in the short story “Cat Person” by Kristen Roupenian are told by a third-person narrator, who is an outside observer to the story.
The narrator adopts Margot’s perspective of the events and knows details about her background: “Flirting with her customers was a habit she’d picked up back when she worked as a barista, and it helped with tips”.
