The decantation

In Aldous Huxley's Brave New World, the World State ensures the production and education of its citizens. It regulates the number and categorization of children according to social needs. They are divided into five castes: Alphas, Betas, Gammas, Deltas, and Epsilons.

In the new world, babies are not naturally conceived and born, but artificially bred in city breeders and conditioning centers on conveyor belts in test tubes. This process is called ‘decantation’.
