The novel  can be divided into two main parts. 

The first part contains chapters 1 through 9 and introduces the reader to the World State. By using various characters, it describes the stable and controlled caste society and people’s lives from birth to death in detail. Two characters, Bernard Marx and Helmholtz Watson, mark a contrast in this section: they do not behave like the other caste members, but try to develop freely. This creates tension in the text. Bernard and Lenina's stay in the reservation represents the climax of the plot and prepares the dramatic course of the story in the second part.

In the second part (chapters 10 - 18), John, ‘the savage’, takes the lead. Bernard is in the spotlight right from the start, when he introduces John and Linda to the Dir…
